Megaworld, a real estate leader, a pioneer as office developer and landlord will increase office space by 712,000 sqm this year, solidifying its top developer and landlord status.

Currently, Megaworld has 26 corporate office towers across locations. Ten are in Eastwood City, 14 in McKinley Hill, 1 in Newport City, and 1 in The Mactan Newtown in Cebu. Four new towers will rise – two in Uptown Bonifacio, one in The Mactan Newtown, and one in Iloilo Business Park.

Expect approximately 112,000 sqm of office space for IT-BPO and corporate use this year. Uptown Tower 1 and Uptown Tower 2 will contribute, each with 30,000 sqm within Uptown Bonifacio, a 15.4-hectare Megaworld township in Fort Bonifacio.

Megaworld BPO Offices

Around 30,000 sqm of BPO office spaces will be in the 8 Newtown Office Tower, along with 7,000 sqm in the Two World Center, in The Mactan Newtown, by the second half of the year.

Additionally, 10,000 sqm of office spaces are set for completion in IBP BPO Building A and 5,000 sqm in the Richmonde Office Tower in Iloilo Business Park this year.

Being pioneer as office developer and landlord, Kevin L. Tan, Chief Strategy Officer, says, “We expand our office space inventory to increase revenue.”

Megaworld’s townships host about 110,000 professionals, with a significant portion in Eastwood City and McKinley Hill. Completion of four new office towers is expected to generate around 60,000 jobs in five years.

Tan adds, “Cutting-edge office towers will drive BPO growth.”

Currently, 126 firms lease from the developer’s office spaces, with 87% being IT-BPO companies.

Prominent IT-BPO entities like Accenture, HP, Wells Fargo, IBM, United Health Group, Thomson Reuters, Dell, WNS, and Samsung operate in Megaworld’s townships.

Uptown Bonifacio recently earned “special economic zone” accreditation from PEZA. By 2016, Uptown Bonifacio will offer 150,000 sqm of leasable office spaces.

Tan emphasizes eco-friendly office towers in Uptown Bonifacio, positioning it as BGC’s premier business district.

A Colliers International Research study validates the company’s position. The company holds a 23% market share in traditional and IT-BPO office spaces.

Megaworld’s 27% market share leads in the IT-BPO office space sector. Based on 2013 data, Megaworld is the primary BPO space provider with 539,384 sqm, surpassing its closest rival’s 306,094 sqm.
